UCI WorldTour Standings: UAE Team Emirates and Pogačar Dominate as Relegation Dogfight Intensifies
Tadej Pogačar and UAE Team Emirates maintain massive, insurmountable leads in the latest UCI WorldTour rankings, shifting the late-season drama to a razor-thin relegation battle at the bottom of the team table.

The 2026 road cycling season is in its final sprint, but the latest UCI WorldTour rankings confirm one undeniable truth: Tadej Pogačar and UAE Team Emirates are operating in a completely different stratosphere. As the peloton packs its bags for the season-ending Tour of Guangxi, the fight for the top spots is already in the deep freeze.[2]
Instead, the real drama has shifted to the bottom of the table. A desperate, razor-thin dogfight for survival is unfolding among the lower-ranked teams, where a single late-season result could dictate a squad's future in the professional peloton.
Despite spending more than a month away from competition following his crash at the Vuelta a España, Pogačar remains the undisputed king of the rider rankings. The Slovenian sits on a staggering 10,131.75 points, holding a 3,045-point advantage over his closest rival, Remco Evenepoel.
Evenepoel recently captured the European road championship, a victory that will slightly narrow the gap once those points are fully processed by the UCI. However, with only a handful of race days left, Pogačar's cushion is mathematically insurmountable for the Belgian star.[1]
Behind the leading duo, the top five remains entirely static. Mexican sensation Isaac del Toro holds third place with 6,336.46 points, followed closely by Paul Seixas on 5,020.38 points and Jonas Vingegaard in fifth with 4,160.82 points.
Del Toro and Evenepoel will have one final major opportunity to pad their statistics at Il Lombardia. Del Toro recently returned to racing with UAE after battling knee issues, expressing his frustration with the mysterious injury by stating, "I had the same bike, same shoes, same everything."
Further down the top 10, Tom Pidcock remains in sixth place with 3,891.50 points. The British rider has kept himself in the mix after a season packed with consistent results, recently securing second-place finishes at both the Giro dell'Emilia and Tre Valli Varesine.
Outside the top 30, the most significant upward momentum belongs to Olav Kooij and Davide Piganzoli. Kooij climbed ten places to 38th with 1,670.88 points, while Piganzoli surged 11 spots to 39th following his impressive victory on home roads at the Giro dell'Emilia.
In the team classification, UAE Team Emirates has turned the 2026 season into a relentless procession. The Emirati squad boasts 29,642.96 points, extending their lead over second-place Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe to more than 5,612 points.
Visma-Lease a Bike sits comfortably in third with 21,878.10 points, maintaining a substantial 2,293-point buffer over the French squad Decathlon CMA CGM Team. Lidl-Trek rounds out the top five with 17,773.07 points.
UAE's overwhelming advantage reflects the sheer depth of their roster throughout the year. Even without Pogačar, riders like Adam Yates and Brandon McNulty have consistently hoovered up points in the late-season Italian classics, ensuring the team's dominance remains unchallenged.
While the top of the table is a foregone conclusion, the battle around the crucial 30th position is exceptionally tight. Only 2.15 points separate 29th-place Bardiani from 30th-place MBH Bank, making the two squads effectively tied as they scramble for every available point.
Just behind them, Euskaltel-Euskadi sits in 31st place, trailing MBH Bank by a mere 170.74 points. Because the margins are so incredibly compressed in this tier, a single breakaway or top-10 finish in the remaining autumn races could completely upend the standings.
Further up the board, the fight for top-20 positioning is equally fierce. Cofidis made the biggest move of the week, climbing two places to 17th with 9,340.03 points to leapfrog both NSN Cycling Team and Lotto Intermarché.
For the borderline teams, the stakes are existential. While finishing 30th does not guarantee an automatic Grand Tour invitation under the current UCI system, maximizing points is absolutely essential for securing wildcards and maintaining sponsor confidence heading into the 2027 season.
The final major points haul of the year will come at the Tour of Guangxi, which kicks off in China on October 13. With six stages of varied terrain, the season finale offers one last lifeline for the teams hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone.[2]
The math is now brutally simple for the squads at the bottom of the table. Every sprint, every breakaway, and every finish-line placing in China will be heavily contested, as the fight for WorldTour survival comes down to the final pedal strokes of the year.[2]
