Cooluli Recalls 250,000 Minifridges Over Fire and Burn Hazards After 19 Incident Reports

Owners of Cooluli 10-liter and 15-liter minifridges need to check their model numbers immediately, as the company has recalled approximately 250,000 units over severe fire and burn hazards. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the action after the internal power supplies in these compact appliances began short-circuiting. Consumers are advised to unplug the units right away to prevent property damage.[1]

The recall specifically targets older production batches within the Infinity, Classic, Glow Beauty, and Vibe series. These units are identifiable by their internal power supply and the presence of two distinct power input ports—one for AC and one for DC—located on the rear panel, rather than a single DC connection.[1][2]

The core issue stems from the selector switch that toggles the appliances between cooling and warming modes, which is prone to overheating. Cooluli has documented at least 19 incident reports of the minifridges smoking, sparking, melting, or catching fire. These electrical failures have already caused more than $80,000 in reported property damage and resulted in one smoke inhalation injury.[1][2]

These compact refrigerators were sold nationwide through Amazon and Cooluli's direct website between January 2019 and October 2024, with retail prices ranging from $80 to $120. The affected models were distributed in a wide variety of colors, including black, blue, green, white, and red, alongside versions featuring multicolored patterns and photographs.[1]

To determine if a specific fridge is included in the recall, consumers must check the label printed on the inside of the minifridge door. The recall applies exclusively to batch numbers 1535 through 1545, and 1200000 through 1202080. Cooluli notes that newer models utilizing an external power supply brick are safe and not subject to this recall.[2]

Rather than issuing a full refund or requiring a complete product return, Cooluli is resolving the issue by providing a free repair kit. Affected owners are instructed to visit the company's product notice webpage to enter their model and batch numbers to confirm their eligibility for the replacement components.[2]

The repair process requires customers to permanently disable the appliance's AC functionality. Owners must unplug the minifridge, cut the removable power cord, and submit photographic evidence to Cooluli. The manufacturer will then provide a replacement DC power cord and a permanent sticker to securely cover the hazardous AC port.[1][2]

Federal safety regulators emphasize that it is illegal to sell, donate, or redistribute any product that is subject to a voluntary safety recall. Consumers must keep the recalled minifridges completely unplugged and out of service until the repair kit is received and the AC port is permanently sealed.[1][3]
