The race for Alexandra Palace has been blown wide open. The 2026 PDC Asian Tour visited Manila for Events 21-24, drawing a record 256 players—the highest turnout ever across an Asian Tour weekend.[1][2]

The undisputed story of the weekend was 38-year-old Japanese arrowsmith Ryuta Arihara. Entering the weekend with just one previous circuit title to his name, he achieved a spectacular hat-trick, winning Events 22, 23, and 24 to completely reshape the Order of Merit.[1][2][4]

Arihara's dominance began in Event 22, where he barely put a foot wrong. Across eight matches, he conceded just seven legs. After surviving a scare against compatriot Haruki Muramatsu, he averaged over 105 in consecutive games against Johnlloyd Castro and Carlo Monsanto before whitewashing Jeffrey Pinas in the final.[1][2]

He followed it up by surviving three nerve-jangling last-leg deciders in Event 23. Arihara edged out World Championship star Motomu Sakai, Asian Champion Lourence Ilagan, and finally Paolo Nebrida in the showpiece to stumble over the finish line and secure back-to-back crowns.[1][2]

Arihara completed the sweep by beating Christian Perez 5-1 in the Event 24 final. This unprecedented run skyrocketed him to third in the overall Asian Tour Order of Merit, putting him in prime position for a World Championship debut.[1][2]

Despite losing the Event 24 final, the Philippines' Christian Perez accumulated enough prize money to overtake Motomu Sakai for the number one spot in the standings. Perez had previously claimed back-to-back titles in Singapore, showcasing his own stellar form on the circuit.[1][3]

The top five players on the final PDC Asian Tour rankings will qualify for the 2026/27 Paddy Power World Darts Championship at London's Alexandra Palace. Currently, Perez leads, followed by Sakai, Arihara, Muramatsu, and Hong Kong's Man Lok Leung.[1]

Just outside the cut-off are Paolo Nebrida in sixth and Lok Yin Lee in seventh. Lee remains firmly in the hunt after claiming his second title of 2026 by winning Event 21, the opening tournament of the Manila weekend.[1][2]

The margins separating the top contenders remain razor-thin ahead of the final weekend.

The expansion of the Asian Tour and the sheer depth of talent on display highlight the global growth of darts. With the final events of the season looming, the pressure is immense as players vie for a life-changing spot on the sport's biggest stage.[1][5]

The circuit now moves toward its thrilling conclusion, with the final four events scheduled to take place in Changjiang. For veterans like Perez and rising forces like Arihara, the math is simple: maintain their form for one more weekend, and they will punch their tickets to London.[3]
