Producing that same volume through traditional farming would require 10,000 square meters of land and approximately four tonnes of harvested cocoa pods.[5]

Beyond stabilizing consumer prices, these technologies offer a profound environmental dividend. Cocoa cultivation has historically been a primary driver of deforestation, with countries like Côte d'Ivoire losing vast swaths of rainforest to agricultural expansion over the last six decades.[4]
