  • How ticket sales and attendance figures for LOVB Los Angeles will track at a venue as massive as the 18,000-seat Intuit Dome.

The commercial ceiling for professional women's volleyball in the United States just shattered. In a span of 72 hours this week, League One Volleyball (LOVB) secured a first-of-its-kind league-wide jersey patch deal with CVS Pharmacy, locked in a massive performance technology partnership with Kitman Labs, and confirmed its Los Angeles franchise will play in the $2 billion Intuit Dome.[1][3]

It is a staggering flex of infrastructure for a league preparing for its 2026-27 season. While startup sports properties often fight for regional broadcast scraps and mid-major collegiate arenas, LOVB is leveraging its unique "club-to-pro" business model to pull blue-chip corporate money and NBA-tier venues directly into the volleyball ecosystem.[4]

The CVS Pharmacy agreement, announced on September 1, represents the retail giant's first league-wide jersey patch sponsorship anywhere in sports. The CVS logo will sit on the front of every LOVB Pro team's jersey this season, but sports business analysts note that the deal's real engine runs through the grassroots.[1][2][4]

“Volleyball is about more than what happens on the court. It's about building healthy communities, supporting athletes through every stage of their journey, and creating connections that last beyond the game,” said Michelle McGoldrick, Chief Business Officer of League One Volleyball.[1]

LOVB's infrastructure by the numbers ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

The sponsorship grants CVS direct access to LOVB's network of more than 30,000 youth athletes and their families. It funds "Convenience Corner" pop-ups at club tournaments and a digital mentorship series—LOVB Notes—connecting pro players with youth prospects. It is a unified commercial platform that bridges the gap between professional franchise operations and local grassroots ecosystems.[2][4]

Two days later, on September 3, the league announced a comprehensive agreement with Kitman Labs to serve as the performance foundation for every LOVB Pro team. The intelligence platform will centralize medical, performance, and operational data across the court, the weight room, and the treatment table.

“We want to build the best athlete health and performance program in professional sport, and a model the rest of women's sport can look to,” said Katherine Henry, Head of Pro Health and Wellness at LOVB. In a grueling professional season, managing the workload of elite talent is the difference between a championship run and a roster collapse.

That talent pool is deeper than ever. In June, LOVB finalized its 2026-27 signing class, adding 66 new athletes to the league. The incoming cohort features 31 international players, 17 All-Americans, and 10 Olympians, demanding a world-class medical infrastructure to protect the league's on-court product.[5]

The $2 billion Intuit Dome in Inglewood will serve as the inaugural home for LOVB Los Angeles.

But the loudest statement of intent came from the West Coast. LOVB Los Angeles, owned by 776 founder Alexis Ohanian, confirmed it will play its inaugural season at the 18,000-capacity Intuit Dome in Inglewood. The franchise will host an invitation-only brand launch event at the venue on September 25, followed by a seat-selection event for founding depositors.[3]

“Volleyball already has one of the largest and most passionate communities in Southern California. What it hasn't had is a professional stage that matches the scale of that fandom,” Ohanian said. “Intuit Dome gives us exactly that. We're building LOVB Los Angeles with the ambition to create one of the best live experiences in women's sports.”[3]

The stakes are clear: LOVB is no longer just trying to prove that professional volleyball can survive in the American market. By locking down national retail sponsors, elite performance technology, and the newest mega-arena in Los Angeles, the league is betting it can dictate the future of the sport. The infrastructure is built; the next test is on the floor.[1][3]
