UN Inquiry Concludes Israel Deliberately Targeted Gaza Children, Citing Genocidal Intent

A United Nations independent commission of inquiry has concluded that Israeli security forces deliberately targeted Palestinian children in Gaza, stating that the military's actions amount to genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes. The sweeping report, released Tuesday by the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, represents one of the most severe international indictments of Israel's conduct since the conflict began.[1][2][3]

According to the commission, at least 20,179 Palestinian children were killed between the outbreak of hostilities in October 2023 and October 2025. Beyond direct munitions strikes, the UN report documented severe secondary impacts that devastated Gaza's youth. The commission found that repeated mass displacements, the destruction of healthcare facilities, and severe restrictions on food and medicine caused a wave of preventable deaths. The inquiry noted a reported increase in miscarriages and warned that nearly all surviving children in the enclave require extensive psychological support.[2][4]
