Toros de Tijuana and Diablos Rojos Set Blistering Pace as Mexican Baseball League Reaches 2026 All-Star Break

The 2026 Liga Mexicana de Béisbol (LMB) season has reached its midsummer intermission, and two juggernauts have separated themselves from the pack. As the 20-team league pauses for the All-Star Game in Monterrey this weekend, the Toros de Tijuana and Diablos Rojos del México are setting a blistering pace in the North and South zones, respectively.[1][4]

In the Zona Norte, the Toros de Tijuana have been an unstoppable force. Boasting a 39-18 record and a league-best .684 winning percentage, Tijuana has built a comfortable cushion over the second-place Charros de Jalisco (33-26) and the third-place Caliente de Durango (31-26).[2]

Tijuana's dominance is built on elite run prevention and timely hitting, outscoring opponents 282 to 195 through their first 57 games. Their +87 run differential highlights a balanced roster that has consistently overwhelmed divisional rivals, positioning them as the clear team to beat in the North.[2][4]

Over in the Zona Sur, the defending champion Diablos Rojos del México are showing no signs of a championship hangover. Seeking to add to their record 18 league titles, the "Pingos" sit atop the South with a 38-21 record and a .644 winning percentage.[2][6]

Playing in the hitter-friendly confines of Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú in Mexico City, the Diablos have mashed their way to 472 runs scored—by far the highest total in the league. Their explosive lineup, anchored by former MLB stars and international standouts, has proven too much for most pitching staffs to handle.[1][2]

However, the Olmecas de Tabasco are keeping the Diablos honest. Tabasco sits just two games back at 36-23, utilizing a stellar pitching staff that has allowed only 272 runs.
