Kimi Antonelli Wins 2026 Italian Grand Prix From 19th on the Grid

Kimi Antonelli just delivered a drive that will be talked about in Monza for decades. Starting from 19th on the grid after taking a 30-place engine penalty, the 20-year-old Mercedes driver carved his way through the field to win the 2026 Italian Grand Prix. While the Mercedes garage celebrated, the Tifosi endured a nightmare afternoon. Charles Leclerc lost the rear of his Ferrari at the high-speed Parabolica corner on lap two, hitting the tire barrier hard and bringing out a red flag. Leclerc walked away unhurt, but the crash instantly neutralized Ferrari's primary threat. Teammate Lewis Hamilton could only manage a distant sixth-place finish, crossing the line 24.655 seconds adrift.[1][4]

Further down the order, the midfield produced its own drama. Gasly's Alpine faded from pole to finish seventh, while Arvid Lindblad scored four points in eighth for Racing Bulls.
