Tim Seifert Joins St Lucia Kings as Replacement for Noor Ahmad in CPL 2026

The St Lucia Kings have announced a major mid-season roster change, signing New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert for the remainder of the 2026 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) campaign. Seifert arrives as a direct replacement for Afghan left-arm wrist spinner Noor Ahmad. The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) revoked Noor's No-Objection Certificate (NOC), forcing his withdrawal from the tournament before he could travel to the West Indies.[1]

The sudden departure of Noor Ahmad represents a significant blow to the Kings' title defense. The 24-year-old spinner was the cornerstone of their maiden championship run in 2024, finishing as the tournament's leading wicket-taker with 22 dismissals at a stifling economy rate of 6.19. His recall by the ACB is tied to Afghanistan's preparations for an upcoming three-match T20I series against India in New Delhi, scheduled to begin on September 13.[1][3]
