Global Standings: MLB's AL Central Deadlocks as KBO's Doosan Bears Face Asian Games Roster Squeeze

With two weeks remaining in the 2026 regular season, the global baseball playoff picture has reached a boiling point. In the KBO, the Doosan Bears are clinging to a 3.5-game lead for the final playoff spot just as they lose their top two pitchers to the Asian Games, while Major League Baseball's American League Central has hit a dead tie.[1][3]

"The schedule has lined up perfectly, so I expect a lot of baseball fans to pack Jamsil during that stretch." In North America, the American League Central has turned into a dead heat. The Cleveland Guardians have erased a massive summer deficit to tie the Chicago White Sox atop the division standings.[3][4]
