Bournemouth Dismantles AC Milan 3-0 in Europa League Stunner

By Jackson Reed · Sports & Gaming

Bournemouth remains perfect in the Europa League after punishing a 10-man AC Milan side in a dominant 3-0 victory on the south coast.

The Cherries are for real, and AC Milan just found out the hard way. On a wet and wild night at the Vitality Stadium, Marco Rose's Bournemouth dismantled the seven-time European champions 3-0, staying flawless in their inaugural Europa League campaign.

The match hinged on a moment of absolute madness in the 28th minute. Already trailing to an early Justin Kluivert penalty, awarded after a Koni De Winter handball, Milan hit the self-destruct button. Goalkeeper Mike Maignan completely lost his head during a corner, shoving Tyler Adams in the face. The referee produced a straight red card and pointed to the spot, leaving Milan down a man and down a goalkeeper. Marcus Tavernier stepped up and ruthlessly dispatched the second penalty past substitute teenager Lorenzo Torriani.

From there, it was a tactical masterclass by Rose. Bournemouth abandoned any frantic urgency, instead using their fluid 4-2-2-2 shape to suffocate Ruben Amorim's side. They exploited the wide channels and dragged a depleted Milan structure all over the pitch. Adams, an absolute engine in the midfield and the catalyst for the red card, dictated the tempo and earned man of the match honors for his relentless disruption of Milan's build-up play.

Amine Adli put the final nail in the coffin in the 84th minute, curling a gorgeous free-kick past a disjointed Milan wall to seal the 3-0 scoreline.

For Bournemouth, the stakes could not be clearer: they are three wins from three, sitting on nine points and looking like genuine contenders for an automatic round of 16 berth. Meanwhile, Milan is in deep trouble. Sitting 16th with two defeats in three games, Amorim's men now face a brutal climb against Ferencvaros and Olympiacos just to keep their top-eight tournament hopes alive. The south coast of England is officially a European fortress.
